Visits Cass, West Virginia
during peak fall foliage!
Travel
with the Columbus Garden Railway Society as they ride behind historic Shay
steam locomotives
up to Bald Knob in Cass, West Virginia during peak fall foliage.
Listen
to the steam whistles as they echo through the valleys. Then enjoy the
view from
the second-highest peak in West Virginia. See the former logging camp at Whittaker
during an intermediate stop.
On
the descent from Bald Knob hop aboard the Motor Car M-3 as it takes the
gang down
grade through a right-of-way lined with lush fall colors.
The
last day of the excursion features a brunch buffet in the club car Mardi
Gras as CGRS takes a ride on the Tygart Flyer with vintage diesel motive
power. "Homegrown entertainment" is included.
On
the way to Cass visit the historic Harmar Station toy train museum in
Marietta, Ohio in its last year of operation. See the huge O-gauge
operating layout and walls full of collectible trains of all gauges.
Run
time approximately 20 minutes.
